"Boyhood Recollections," the painting of the old farmhouse with the rusty, tin roof in a grassy pasture near a pond was drawn from my dad’s memories of growing up in the country west of Opelousas, near Lawtell, Louisiana. He fondly remembered many fun times spent visiting his aunts, uncles, and cousins who lived nearby. While gazing at this peaceful scene, one is struck by the awesome beauty of God's creation. The beauty of these wide-open spaces sparks your imagination. You can believe that this was your retreat… a place to come away from the cares of your daily life. You can easily imagine running through the fields, swimming in the pond, and exploring in the woods.
